Mysore --- The public and media will not be banned from attending the JNNURM review meetings.

Deputy commissioner P Manivannan, who is JNNURM special officer, overturned the decision of the Mysore City Corporation, the nodal agency for the Centre's project.

Even as the cracks surfaced in the MCC with mayor Purushothama and the officials split over the transparency in the execution of the JNNURM projects, Manivannan said that among 63 cities where the JNNURM projects are on, it is Mysore where the public and media are being allowed to partake in review meetings.

A committee of officials will be appointed to supervise the works, he said. It has now been decided to allow media, he stated.
