Filmmaker files petition at Supreme Court to ensure safe screening of controversial film

New Delhi --- Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on Thursday moved a petition before the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Gujarat DGP for providing security for the peaceful screening of Aamir Khan's Fanaa in the state.
A petition in this regard was mentioned before a vacation bench comprising Justice Arijit pasayat and Justice C K Thakker which said it will hear it in due course.
Now, a panel to oppose 'Fanaa'
Ahmedabad --- The Narmada Abhiyan, an apex body of pro-Narmada organisations, has formed a five-member non-political committee of youths to mobilise public opinion against screening of Aamir Khan's film Fanaa on grounds that he had joined hands with the NBA, led by Medha Patkar.
The committee, to be headed by BJP youth wing leader Amit Thaker, will launch its campaign on Friday. City unit president of NSUI Indravijaysinh Gohil and BJP MLA Gordhan Zadafia are also members of the panel.
Gohil, who attended the Abhiyan meeting, clarified that he was not opposed to either Aamir Khan or Fanaa, but "was against the NBA".
