BAHAWALPUR, Dec 23: Yazman tehsil council at its meeting here on Tuesday passed a resolution against a private television licensing company, which, its members said, was fleecing the residents of rural areas.

In the resolution, union council Naib Nazim Chaudhry MohammadAmin said Yazman was exempt from TV licences, but the company was harassing the people of its rural areas for not getting their licences.

The tehsil council decided that it would ban the entry of the company's contractor to Yazman and the consumers would not pay fees for television licences. The resolution also called upon the government to withdraw the contractor from the Yazman tehsil areas.
