Jakarta --- An Indonesian lawmaker allegedly depicted in a sex video romping with a singer in a hotel room is being investigated by his party, Vice-President Jusuf Kalla said yesterday.
A local TV station has played a blurred version of the video that apparently shows a married Golkar party parliamentarian naked with a singer.
Mr Kalla, who is also Golkar chairman, said the party had formed a special team to establish whether the man shown was in fact the legislator, identified in the local press only as "YZ," ElShinta radio reported.
"There are many (facts) to confirm. Is the person in the video really (the lawmaker)?" he said.
Mr Jusuf said if the woman in the video was legally YZ's wife, the matter was over. Otherwise, he risked expulsion. The parliamentarian is on a business trip to Australia and was unavailable for comment.
Golkar, the political vehicle of former leader Suharto, is currently the country's largest political party.
