The Council for National Security is to use its website to counter a pro-Thaksin Shinawatra one that continues to attack both the CNS and the government.

CNS spokesman Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that www.cns.go.th will be adapted to counter false information spread by the pro-Thaksin website, www.hi-thaksin.net.

"The CNS is not going to hit back. We just want to clarify the information that might be distorted.

"We are just a state-run website," whose scope of content is usually limited, Col Sansern said, "so we're not going to attack the hi-thaksin.net website".

The CNS currently runs its website to keep people abreast of its activities and to provide updates on investigations into alleged irregularities of members of the ousted government.

hi-thaksin.net is operated by a pro-Thaksin group, which earlier denied it was hired by the deposed prime minister or the Thai Rak Thai party.
