Older reports can be found in the special section of the website that provides information about tsunami recovery and reconstruction activities.
  • United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Maldives
Along with offering support to the government of the Maldives in the areas of democratic governance, pro-poor policies and environmental protection, the UNDP is now actively involved in post-tsunami recovery efforts. The UNDP's Adopt-An-Island program focuses on shelter, infrastructure, livelihoods, disaster risk-management and aid co-ordination. The objective of the program is to generate public and private sector support to sustain the post-tsunami recovery effort in the country.
