INDIA: Press Club donates Rs 25,000 to relief fund

Press Club of Bangalore also cancels New Year's Eve celebrations

BANGALORE: The Press Club of Bangalore has decided to donate Rs 25,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund earmarked for extending help to the Tsunami-affected people.

As a mark of respect to the thousands who perished in the tragedy, the Club has also cancelled the New Year eve celebrations.

The function to present the newly-instituted Press Club awards and the "Citizen of the Year" award has been postponed to January 15, a Club statement said.
